We're a small store but we do our best to support local, independent authors. If your book is not stocked on Ingram, our preferred supplier, we can arrange to carry it on consignment if it meets our guidelines:
- Generative AI has not been used to write, edit, design or package your book, and you agree that we will not share promotional materials created with generative AI.
- You are local and/or have local connections (Franklin County, Hampshire County, Brattleboro or Keene area). We will also consider authors from the greater New England region or authors in our areas of specialty (see below).
- Your book's subject matter matches our specialties: science fiction, fantasy, horror, literary fiction, LGBTQIA+, local nature, local history, and poetry. We do not carry the following subjects on consignment: children’s, health/wellness, politics, religion, general/military history, most memoir (we will consider Franklin County-based authors’ memoirs).
If your book meets our parameters, we’ll guarantee 6 months on shelf, then we reserve the right to remove/store your titles if they have not sold or been picked up. You will be paid under our consignment terms by check -- please supply your address and email or phone so that we can send reimbursement when your book has sold. You can pick your books up at any time.
Non-book (sideline) items are not sold on consigment. We absolutely consider the following items from local makers meeting our general category areas above, our aesthetic, and other considerations -- visit our store or check our Instagram for bookish, snarky, and disability/social-justice examples, but mostly: stickers, cards, postcards, journals, patches, and pins. We do not carry garments, food, dishware, candles, jewelry, cosmetics, or fragranced items. We buy direct on wholesale/resale terms and we buy via Faire.
