Statement of Values

It feels more important than ever to state our values clearly and unreservedly.

We persist to serve our community and to provide a welcoming space, particularly for our disabled and high-risk community members who have been pushed out of other public spaces due to pandemic concerns.

We stand up for our LGBTQ community members. Trans rights are human rights.

We believe that no one is illegal on stolen land. 

We stand firmly against book-banning, against abductions, against bigotry. 

These values shape our policies, the products we carry, and the authors and vendors we platform and support.

If you do not comply with our mask requirement, if you do not make space for others, if you exhibit aggressive or bigoted behavior, you will be asked to leave our premises and not return. This applies to private citizens and public officials alike. 

Friends, neighbors, customers: we will stand up for you.
